I'm from Jinja, Uganda, my mother is Ugandan and my Father is German. My Father came to Uganda over 30 years ago and never went back. I remember when I was a child I was often called 'Muzungu' by other kids ( meaning white ) but nowadays most of them have become my friends and they now call me 'Musoga', which is my mother's tribe here in Uganda.

My experience as a mixed race person in Uganda has so far been positive, I learned that no matter where I am either in Europe or Africa, people always see me as different, that is fine with me. In my town everyone knows me, and as most of my friends are from Uganda. Since I was born here, people get to know me and they not longer see me as different.

However, one of the downsides I would say is that I can't go shopping with my girlfriend because people think I have money, what I have noticed is that here in Africa when people see someone different, they see you as a superior to them and that is not good, it shouldn't be that way. Other then that, so far my life has been great.
